Due to works by our internet and tv provider, we have a couple of days without either one of those in store for us. Besides the fact that it's a wake up call when it comes to our own - over the top - use of those luxuries, it offers plenty of time to really enjoy a day off without the easy choices of binge-watching tv shows and roaming the internet for all sorts of stuff. A welcome change, so to speak! And, yes, I did of course use a bit of the occasional connectivity chances to share this blogpost with you, but there's plenty of other things we, at home, were looking forward to doing on this wifi-free day. A quick summary? Right under here!
PLAY (BOARD) GAMES
Everyone has a couple of those at home, right? Or at least we all should have. It's a very old school way to enjoy some time with your family or friends, and it sends you right back to when you were a kid and you did this all the time. From a Trivial Pursuit in Disney theme and The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow (one of my favourites!), to the simple alphabet game we used to turn to at family gatherings; it's all good fun and way more personal than a video game!
I bet you're a bit tired of hearing about my recently dug up reading habit by now, aren't you? Well, I'll keep it short: this is THE perfect day to really overdo it on your quality time with a couple of those Autumn Reads!
AT HOME SPA
Not a better time to really let yourself relax than when there's no wifi temptation around, don't you think? Put on some music, take your favourite beauty products off the shelf and take a nice long shower or bath. Or, as Parks and Recreation taught us: treat yo self!
That's right: do something you've always wanted to do but were never sure of. For example? I've been thinking about going redhead again since a couple of months now, but hadn't had the courage to do so up until now. Without the usual online time to take my mind off this idea, and while I was out shopping for a bit of creative supplies to fill my day, I finally took the jump and got the shampoo. It was still on a whim, mind, but hey... What else am I going to do today? ;-) Adding this to the previous Spa idea, I'll keep you posted on the result!
Draw, colour, craft, bake, ... There's a whole lot of possibilities, so just pick your favourite! As for me, I finally took the time to add some pretty pictures to my planner, as it was something I had lined up for a couple of weeks now. What I also love doing is to paint my own mugs, so I might just sneak a dull one out of the cupboard and give it a new look today.
And finally: now's your chance for a long walk or run amongst the changing leaves or just a fun outing with friends. There's so much to see besides that computer or tv screen, so just go and see where today takes you!
What would you do (or do you do) without the internet to fill your day?
