We've finally had a little taste of it yesterday, and it seems as if Autumn is definitely chasing those last Summer temperatures away. I, for one, don't mind at all, because A/W have always been my favourite seasons. There's just so much things to look forward to, so let me sum up a few of them for you!
The crisp mornings, the smell of rain, no smothering temperatures anymore... There's always something very comforting about Autumn weather, I think, and I can even see the beauty in having to walk through the pouring rain. That can't be only me, can it?
The leaves turning all sorts of pretty colours is definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to the most. It's already started and I can't wait to go for a run/walk in the forest nearby. Those falling and fallen leaves are just breathtaking to look at, AND fun to jump into. Nope, you're never too old for that.
Coming up in October: the annual Film, Comics, etc. convention in Ghent, called FACTS! I'm about to buy my ticket for Sunday and am looking forward to a day in the company of fellow-geeks. The biggest challenge will be not to spend too much money (still saving up for the apartment!) and keeping my cool when Sylvester McCoy or Paul McGann are in close proximity. I'm meeting up with a couple of people I should have met a long time ago, too, so I'm looking forward to that as well.
My favourite holiday? Well, that's a tough call. It's either this one or Christmas, that's for sure; dressing up, watching Halloween movies and the Halloween Party my parents host every year make it a holiday worth counting down to!
It's a lot easier for me to pick an outfit I love in Autumn and Winter than it is in Summer, believe me. Pretty layers, scarves, comfy coats and tough boots; I can't wait to get into them! I just feel a lot better AND prettier when it's sweater weather, it's as simple as that. We've had our new shoe collection for a while now at work, so you can imagine how much I actually couldn't wait for this temperature to drop. Temptation. Everywhere.
With colder temperatures cometh the return of the cosy evenings! Candles burning, blankets to spare and a hot, steaming cuppa tea or hot chocolate to sip from. Yes, please.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm all for pumpkin-spiced everything. Oh, and cinnamon! That last one is exactly what Autumn tastes AND smells like, isn't it? Not a better time to start baking again, as well. It's just one straight cookie-line from now till the beginning of the new year!
Last but not least: no more reruns, because a lot of your favourite shows start again at the beginning of September. There's something new to watch nearly every day since last week, whether its a new season or an entirely new series. Just as well, because what better way to spend an evening in Autumn than to really snuggle underneath a blanket, with a delicious drink nearby and a good show to send you off?
