Well, well, isn't time going too fast this year? I feel like the last couple of months just flew by, and didn't leave me with a lot of free time to spend on myself. That's about to change, as I have next week to look forward to (it's job-free!), and I have a couple of more hours a day to myself in this one as well. This means that I'll have even more hours to keep myself busy with - or enjoy things - I'm currently really digging, and I'm about to share those things with you!Read More
From a new addictive series to the reason why I've never counted down to a Sunday so enthusiastically; these are a couple of my favourite things at the moment!
TV SERIES || RIVERDALE
A high school murder mystery? Yes, please! I was immediately hooked after the first episode of Riverdale, and devastated at the same time since there's only one new episode per week and I'm not used to that anymore. The third one is coming tomorrow, though, and I can't wait to see more of the story unfold. And more of Jughead. Any other watchers who think he's just the coolest, as well?
MUSIC || INSTRUMENTAL PLAYLISTS
I've been writing a lot, recently, both for the blog and other projects. Instrumental playlists really help me focus while I'm at it and I've found a couple of favourites by now. One of them is the soundtrack to one of my favourite TV programmes at the moment. It's a game show on Belgian TV, revolving around thrilling missions and games to earn money, while all the way there's a traitor amongst them who's always trying to sabotage the others. The one who figures out who this 'mole' is by the end of the series wins, so the trick is to stay in the game as long as possible. It's a bit hard to explain (apparently, haha!), but it really is awesome. We're only on the first episode right now, but the soundtrack provided by the makers always features amazing film scores and other fitting songs, which they then pour into a weekly updated playlist. I love it!
Another one of my favourites is a very extensive playlist featuring a ton of instrumental film music all thrown together. You can find it right here.
BEAUTY || HUMBLE TREE NAIL POLISH BY HEMA
Something I still really miss in the apartment is a whole lot of green. I love plants and cacti, but I haven't gotten around to going out and pick some out to cheer up my living space. I am compensating all that by reaching for a lot of green tints in other things, though. My outfits, for one, tend to feature a lot of the colour (it IS my favourite, yup), and I've rekindled with this nail polish I found at Hema a couple of months ago. I'm absolutely in love with this dark shade called Humble Tree, what do you think?
LIFESTYLE || RECIPE PLANNING
I've recently managed to put a whole lot more fun into cooking. It was becoming a bit of a drag and I tended to make things a bit too easy when it came to making dinner after coming home from work. I've figured out that Sundays are perfect for planning a whole week of meals and doing some research online. Pinterest is full of great, vegetarian ideas, and I'm absolutely crazy about Studio Tinsel's Project Patat (I used to hate potatoes, really, now I think they're just yummy!). The recipes are in Dutch, but are pretty easy to figure out, I promise.
I'm loving the whole trying-out-new-recipes thing so much, that I might just write them all down so I can keep them close to the kitchen for future reference. These pretty boxes by Rifle Paper Co. would be perfect for that!
COUNTING DOWN TO SUNDAY!
Who counts down to Sunday when there's a whole weekend to look forward to? That's right, me. Mind you, I work weekends so I wouldn't mind skipping them altogether, but this Sunday is really something else. My two kittens are finally old enough to move in here, so there's that (I am really excited AND a bit stressed, even. So if you have any tips: please, shoot!), and if that wasn't enough, the BAFTAs - my favourite Award Show - is on that night. So to my fellow cinephiles: tune in and join the conversation this Sunday? ;-)
Q: what are some of your current favourite things?
