what I've been reading.
At least 12 books in a year, one book a month. That’s the personal reading challenge for 2019 and I’m off to a good start! I turned the last page of book number one, the third and final instalment of Cassandra Clare’s The Dark Artifices, right before the end of January and am dying to share my thoughts on it with you. Spoiler-free! Let’s dive right in to my very first book review in a long long while.
Hello there and greetings from my sofa, where I am currently vigorously trying to rest and banish some cliché winter-y germs from my body. I’m hardly ever really really sick, but I must say - while I’d definitely prefer doing this while 100% healthy - I’m actually embracing the whole thing because, after only one day, the good was already beginning to compensate for the bad. By good, I mean that it’s actually been rather nice having the time to just curl up with a book and some tea (regardless of the fact that I fall asleep every hour or so), and because I DID wish to read more in twenty-nineteen I’m just going to go ahead and say - well - good timing, germs. I’m currently well into the latest Shadowhunter novel by Cassandra Clare (with Good Omens ready for takeover because I wanted to reread it ahead of the tv series), and - since it’s going so smoothly, you know - I have a whole list ready so I can’t wait to stick my nose into those as well. The challenge? Finish at least twelve. You’ll soon notice there are a lot more on the list, though, so without further ado: here it is!
It's Friday! The weekend is calling, and although temperatures will be quite alright for at least one more week, it can't hurt to get back into the habit of reading already, just so you're prepared for those many rainy evenings in Autumn you'd otherwise spend wondering what to do. I've always been someone who loves books, but I must admit that I haven't been giving them as much attention as I'd like ever since I got a job close to home, moved into my own apartment, etc. I definitely want to work on that, though, and so I've compiled a list of things that will hopefully help me (and you?) get lost in the amazing world of books a bit more again. Read along!
It's been some time since I last wrote about my reading challenge for 2017, but I'm thrilled to tell you all that I'm still going strong. And by strong, I mean that we're mostly already halfway the next month by the time I finish a book, but hey! I'm reading! And here's which books I have devoured and am currently devouring since my last book post.
Early nightfall, colder temperatures,... It's all just a tiny nudge more towards that bookshelf you've been neglecting all Summer. At least, that was the case for me, as I've recently (finally!) rediscovered just how awesome a regular reading habit can be. I've put together a list full of perfect books for this season, just to keep it up and fill my evenings for the next couple of months. Want to know a bit more about those chosen ones? Read on below!
