home inspiration and decorating ideas.
Everybody who knows me even just a little bit knows that I’m a total sucker for quirky, fun interior details and I do have my favourite (online) spots to find these things on by now. Ever since I finally treated myself to one of those absolutely genius Nessie soup spoons (it’s been on my wish list forever!), I thought it would be fun to share a couple of other cheery kitchen accessories I have my eye on in a new blog post. Perhaps some of them will even make it onto your must-have list, as well, and will help you (as such things have me… Reluctant cook, right here) make diving into that kitchen more often a whole lot more fun! Take a look below.
Is anyone else feeling those Spring Cleaning vibes due to this VERY early warm weather? I, for one, have really been throwing myself into it already, making it a personal goal to finally check off a couple of long-overdue apartment to dos that are beyond the cleaning part alone. First up? Cheering up those dull bedroom walls of mine while I wait for the perfect time to paint them, and this garland seemed like the perfect fit. Especially since I used to be so into making stuff myself, and put ‘creativity’ up as this month’s theme at the beginning of the year because I missed that so much. It’s super easy to make yourself, as well, so if you - like me - adore a bit of DIYing, especially when it’s to do with the gorgeous moon, take a look below to find out how to go about making your very own garland!
Plant of the Month: Ferns. That’s what the poster said when I recently found myself at the local garden and pets’ shop for a new cat food bowl (I broke one, oops). Now there’s two things you should know. The first one being that I have not managed to keep a fern (especially a Boston fern) alive for long. The second thing? Ferns are my absolute favourite so - unsurprisingly - I couldn’t resist despite definitely being aware of thing number one. I took a big, beautiful Boston fern (I named him Bob, don’t judge) and a smaller, cute Blue Star fern home with me, determined that third time WOULD be the charm. I did the research and here you go: a blog post full of tips and to-do’s for me and my fellow, fern-lovin’ pals!
That’s right, I’m letting my inner little Marie Kondo take the wheel on the blog today! It’s not always easy, you know, having no one to share chores with and keeping the apartment clean and clutter-free all on my own. And while I’m definitely (definitely!) not perfect, I have learned a couple of tips and tricks in these two years of living alone that I’d like to share with you. Here goes!
We’re well into October by now, which absolutely doesn’t mean I waited up until now to decorate the place for Halloween (Instagram gave that one away, didn’t it?). But! It is, however, the perfect (read: acceptable) time to share the whole shebang with you on the blog and give you a peek inside my - not that - spooky living space. Take a look just below the cut!
I visited the annual FACTS Fall convention in Ghent last Sunday, and besides seeing John Barrowman at his best, this generally means a little bit too much money was once again spent and my inner geek had a high-time amongst her own kind. I absolutely love finding a couple of new additions to the geeky collection, AND finding a fitting spot for them once I come home. How I go about it? Well, read on!
If there's one thing I could really do all day, it's switching up the little interior details of my apartment. I really do love decorating, and while I certainly can't say no to any kind of interior shopping when it comes my way, I probably love decorating with what I already have even more. From geeky collectables to having your favourite memories close by, here's a couple of things I truly love putting all across my apartment.
It's no secret that vintage felt letterboards have made a huge comeback. They're still a must-have in every interior geek's living space and I totally get why; with its old-school vibe, its simple look, its ability to fit into every kind of interior and the fact that you can change your quotes and clevernesses every day if you want to, it's a total treat to have it in your home. Don't always have the inspiration to change yours to an original thought? Here' a couple of my favourites from Pinterest!
It probably hasn't gone unnoticed that this blog has undergone a serious makeover, hasn't it? Not only did I change the name to my own, I personalised the categories as well. The purpose? Well, I've never been good at focusing on only one aspect of my character and specialising in one 'kind' of blog topic. I found it didn't really paint a picture of the person behind the blog and so I decided to just take the leap and expose the real deal. The whole package, so to speak. The first one I'll be introducing to you is my obsession with decorating and personalising my apartment, the little piece of my personality I dubbed 'the decorating geek'. Here goes.
Ever since I moved into my very own apartment, it's been a favourite hobby of mine to gradually fill every little corner with some detail or another, particularly something green. I had no idea it would grow into such a passion, but it has, and what's more; it didn't go unnoticed. Before I knew it, I was the lucky receiver of some of Croix Chatelain's newest products. I promised I would showcase them on here, and seeing as it was just so SO easy to integrate these pretty (and handy) items into my interior, I'm very happy to finally do so. Let's take a look at the newest additions to this growing, greenery-filled home, along with a link to make your very own plant hanger!
